Join ULI Colorado’s Discovery Committee for a Bike/Scooter tour which will focus on the future of the South Platte River in Denver, including context of its past, present, and future relationship to the City of Denver.
Historically, Denver has turned its back to the South Platte river; this event will explore how we can design a city, through development projects and conservation efforts, that turns our front doors back toward the river and a great natural asset in our back yard. They say all great cities have great rivers. How can we emphasize our great river here in Denver and make it a desired setting where people want to play, live, and work? These questions will be answered during presentations by several key leaders in various sectors of development who are involved in the effort to restore the life and value of the South Platte River.
Participants will be led on a bike/scooter tour to see the river firsthand and listen to presentations given by speakers stationed at a strategic locations along the river. At each stop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about efforts taking place to design a river-scape which emphasizes and embraces this important natural asset in our communities.
