ULI Colorado: (FY20 CANCELLED) Sustainability in Resorts and Hospitality Summit
Registration is now Open!
Join ULI Colorado in Snowmass for ski weekend festivities and a Monday conference in discussion of efforts around climate in our resort communities.
Join ULI Colorado, ULI’s Resort Entertainment Tourism and Leisure Product Council (RETL), ULI’s New York City-based Greenprint Center for Building Performance, as well as our community partner, ULI Utah, for a “Sustainability in Resorts and Hospitality Summit” on April 13, 2020 in Snowmass. The summit brings together public and private sectors in our mountain communities and resorts in discussion of common goals around climate, where we’re falling short, and lessons learned from national resort projects.
With rising seas and CO2 levels, and global initiatives to cut world energy use 30% by 2030, many places are setting aggressive goals to address climate concerns. In the U.S., residential and commercial buildings account for 40 percent of energy consumption. Hotels and resorts have started ramping up efforts to reduce or eliminate completely their resource and their carbon footprint. Some hotels and resorts are even taking “sustainability” to a new level, going beyond energy conservation and waste management to create sustaining communities through large-scale placemaking efforts that promote health and wellness through tourism.
4 hours of continuing education are offered for AIA, AICP. Registration includes lunch; end of day happy hour is self-hosted.
